Cooking has always been a part of my life. To me, it is more than just a career but a vocation. I remember when I was a kid, I would always want to make my dinner plate extra fancy and colorful. I put in unnecessary, and even inedible stuff just to make it look like the set up in magazines. In the end, I end up not eating it because the whole thing turned out inedible. Growing up, I figured cooking was just more than that. You have to have the heart and the know – how for it. As a cook, its not as simple as putting in the right ingredients or mixing the right flavors. Above all else, we cook to give happiness by way of showcasing the amazing world of the human palette, culture and creativity through that one thing common with all of us, food. I love to cook and I put love in all I create. I guess that’s the most essential part of cooking, having that passion and love for the craft. For the aspiring chef, find what drives you to create, to discover flavors and to bring smiles to those who try what you make. Most of all just love what you do.
